For months it has been confirmed that Australian pop princess
Kylie Minogue will be on stage at the private concert. We can now reveal Lebanese sensation Nawal Al Zoghabi will also join the I Should Be So Lucky singer on stage to perform some of her most popular hits.

Bollywood fans should be on the lookout for Priyanka Chopra who will again return to Dubai, to appear as ‘The Goddess of Atlantis’ in a dazzling light show designed by Paris’s famed Jean Michel Jarre.

Spinning tunes at the Royal Afterglow party will be paparazzi favourite, DJ Samantha Ronson. It’s safe to say her good friend Lindsay Lohan will also be making an appearance on the night.

But despite the crème de la crème of guest lists, the highlight of the evening is set to be a record-breaking fireworks sequence designed by international pyrotechnics expert Grucci.

The extravagant display will be seven times larger than this year’s Olympic Games opening ceremony in Beijing and will span the entire 520 kilometres of the Palm Jumeirah - ensuring it will be seen from space.

Kylie Minogue has agreed to perform at two concerts in Dubai for which she is reported to earn her "an awful lot of money".
Reports claim that for one appearance alone the Australian star will receive
$4 million (£2.23 million).
On November 2nd, Kylie will perform at a private party for 2,000 celebrities at
the Atlantis Palm hotel,opening on Dubai's Palm
island later this month.
Thomas Ovesen, managing director of AEG, confirmed his company was paying considerable amounts of money in arranging the event.
He said Kylie would receive
"an awful lot of money
for two appearances in Dubai".
"She is a top singer and a fantastic performer," he added.
The singer is due to perform in the grounds of a Dubai shopping mall in front of 20,000 fans the day after the hotel show.
It is reported that Madonna had previously been in line for the two performances.

Another source said: "She is already planning the shows, the costumes and the songs but there is no doubt that it will be the climax to the end of her year of touring expected of a star of her stature.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Speculation about Madonna’s high-priced performance in the oil-rich Gulf was put to rest on Sunday when a managing company for music industry’s biggest stars announced that it will be Kylie Minogue singing for a hefty sum in the Material Girl’s place in November.
Minogue will perform twice in Dubai this November, said Thomas Ovesen, managing director of Middle East AEG Live, the regional arm of an international company that produces live events worldwide and is bringing the 40-year-old singer to Dubai.
On Nov. 20 the Australian pop-diva, known for her dance moves, extravagant wardrobe on stage and singles like “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” will perform at a private party for 2,000 celebrities by the managers of a new luxury hotel opening later this month on Dubai’s Palm island.
A day later, the award-wining singer and a breast cancer survivor, will have a concert on the grounds of a sprawling shopping mall for up to 20,000 fans from all over the region, Ovesen said.
It’s the private gig and its price tag that is creating the buzz these days in Dubai, rather than Minogue’s Arab world debut or her world tour promoting her latest album “X.”
Local newspapers, like the daily tabloid 7Days, have reported that Minogue would be getting a whopping US$4 million for her performance in front of select audience of internationally known artists, musicians, politicians and members of Dubai’s ruling Maktoum family.
The gala opening of the Atlantis Palm hotel is priced at US$35 million, 7Days said. In its report on Sunday, the paper added that the astounding bill for the evening’s entertainment will be settled by Kerzner International, the management company of the five-star hotel set to open later in September on Dubai’s artificial island shaped like a palm tree.
Although Minogue’s paycheck is not close to the reported US$20 million Madonna was allegedly negotiating earlier this year for a similar two-concert arrangement, Ovesen admitted that the Australian singer was “getting an awful lot of money for two appearances in Dubai.”

Restricted Access to Palm Jumeirah for Opening

DUBAI - Authorities will strictly restrict movement in and out of Palm Jumeirah on Thursday, when a red-carpet list of invitees will join pop star Kylie Minogue for the official opening of the Atlantis Hotel.

Nakheel Asset Management, which manages Palm Jumeirah, said in a circular to residents that they should reach their properties by 4pm on Thursday.

After the stipulated time, residents would be expected to carry special passes and identification papers including tenancy agreements to gain access to their homes.  Hundreds of special invitees from across the world are expected to gather for the event, including political leaders and celebrities with Bollywood’s Priyanka Chopra and Lebanese singing sensation Nawal Al Zoghabi rumoured to be attending.

The event will culminate with a huge fireworks display over the palm-shaped community and residents have been asked to stay away from the newly set up pontoons in the Frond waterways as they will be used as platforms for the pyrotechnics. Each waterway will have between 12 and 15 pontoons, said the circular seen by Khaleej Times.  “The safest and most enjoyable place to watch the fireworks is from your own villa or apartment balcony,” the circular added, saying that the display would begin around midnight on November 20 and last a few minutes.  All security restrictions are expected to be lifted by 6am on Friday. Residents have been requested to stay away from the Palm beaches too.

Kylie Minogue is to play her first live show in the Middle East later this week.

The singer will perform at the world's most expensive hotel in Dubai on November 20, followed by a gig at Dubai's Festival City the next day.

Minogue will be the headlining act at Atlantis, The Palm, where she is expected to be joined on stage by Nawai Al Zoghbi, the biggest-selling Arab artist in history . DJ Sam Ronson will play at the aftershow party.

The popstar will take home £2 million for the appearance, according to reports.

The event has attracted high-profile guests including Oprah Winfrey, Robert DeNiro, Janet Jackson, Boris Becker and the Duchess of York.

The following day, Minogue will play to 20,000 fans on the Middle Eastern leg of her 'X2008 Tour'.

“I can’t wait to see you all at my first ever show in the Middle East," she said on her website.

"The party was so high-profile that an invitation was payment. Those who did not attend probably regret
it."
